Best Of Both Worlds
Despite the star power and as hyped-up, the mano mano between YR B & R. Kelly and Master rap heavyweights Jay-Z is not what fans could expect. Hub makes this CD wobble dangerously close to being a little more than a macho vanity project. Presumably the original intentions were good. After all, R. and Jay are together "Fiesta" was a slice of playa-ladle lot of fun, but long-term project, which stars recorded their parts separately, bit disjointed and boring. Instead of R & B and rap to new heights by showing the best of both worlds once again that sex (Figure) is the only thing on the mind of R. Kelly's and Jay-Z can probably rhyme in his sleep. There are times tolerable, to the title track, which offers brand melodies R. Kelly's scanning and mind deadpan Jay-Z, but even though some hooks and poignant observations can not apologize for offending youth cuts like "Honey" and "* P ** y." The best of both worlds? This documentary raucous hard Knock Life Tour 1999 - featuring Jay-Z, DMX, Method Man, Redman, and other rappers - is chaotic and confusing, but it seems entirely appropriate. Life on tour is notoriously difficult, and this tour (which is a lot of high profile artists and support staff) proves no exception. Surprisingly, the egos of the performers seem reasonably under control, driving the engine, the entire event is Roc-A-Fella Records CEO Damon Dash, who Rants to great effect - together with a sequence fun, as someone tries unsuccessfully to shave Dash away, Dash vents at length about how everyone is wearing jackets known as Def Jam instead of Roc-A-Fella. Pictures of naked backstage groupies, drugs, domestic disputes, and hardly a sentence that is wrong is filled with obscenities or epithets, but the rappers come across as a surprisingly brilliant, very friendly, just have fun.
Jay-Z is particularly charming, but rapper Beanie Sigel is the strongest comments as he describes the treatment of a demo tape to the plate. Strangely, the filming of the concert is only through passages, although certainly communicates the flavor seems.
